Umbrella Companies

Title Underline

If you have always worked PAYE in the past and want a payment solution that means you are still an Employee but are able to offset expenses to maximise your pay whilst contracting, Clipper's Umbrella scheme could be right for you.

An umbrella company is an alternative to being paid PAYE by your client or agency and is safe and compliant. You become an employee of the umbrella company (i.e. Clipper Contracting), and receive the statutory rights that go with it. In addition working through an umbrella company, you can claim back expenses that you incur whilst going about your work that reduces your tax liability and NI, which in turn will improve your net pay.

Here's what you can expect from Clipper umbrella scheme-

  • You will be an employee of Clipper.
  • You will retain the independence that you may have become familiar with as a contractor in the UK.
  • Umbrella companies fall outside the IR35 and 2007 Managed Service Companies (MSC) legislation, so they are a safe way to be paid.
  • We will raise all your invoices, process your payroll and chase any payment you're owed where necessary.
  • We will deduct PAYE and your NIC and send them to HMRC so your tax situation is always up to date.
  • We will off-set all tax-deductible expenses against your income to maximise your take home pay.
  • We will produce and send out all your end of year documents.

Our charge is a competitive £20 per week. (It's taken before tax so could cost you as little as £16.00 from your bottom line) along with £1.50 for insurance.

Holiday Pay - we are required by law to withhold your holiday pay. This is deducted before tax, held separately and then paid out to you (taxed) whenever you wish to take holiday. If you finish your assignment, let us know; your holiday pay along with your P45, will be sent to you.
