Our Company Values

Our Values and What Do They Mean?

Having recently celebrated our 15th year in business, we’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on our journey so far and where we’re heading.

As part of this journey we’ve delved right into the core of the business, to explore what our fundamental values are and how these shape what we do on a daily basis. Every member of staff was consulted and involved in a project that has been months in the making, so that our values came from the people who mattered most. Our values are the beliefs and principles that drive Clipper, helping us build and foster strong relationships and deliver the very best experience to both our clients and our colleagues.

These four values make up the foundation of our company culture and define who we are, regardless of whether you’re a new hire or part of our leadership.

So without further ado…here they are!

Ambitious Pioneers

To be the best partner, we keep an open mind and have a finger on the pulse at all times – ready to ignite our clients’ ambition and embrace any chances to learn. When it comes to pursuing growth, we’re the forward-thinkers that turn possibility into opportunity.

We’d rather be brave and dream of the next big thing than be complacent with where we are.

How do we embody this?

  • Challenge and question, asking: “what if?” and “why not?

  • Look to the future to identify and grab opportunities.

  • Constantly review and research, looking for innovation opportunities.

  • Get excited about change and embrace the new.

  • Value and proactively improve our personal and professional development.

  • Think creatively outside the box to solve problems.

Energised Connectors

Connection is essential to cultivate long-lasting relationships, both between ourselves and our clients. We always want people to come away from conversations feeling like they were heard, valued and supported.

How do we embody this?

  • Show interest and ask: “how can I help?”

  • Show enthusiasm, energy, and passion.

  • Put ourselves in others’ shoes by listening to understand their perspective.

  • Build relationships based on mutual respect and consideration.

  • Communicate effectively, with respectful response times. We also choose the phone over email when possible, using a positive tone and language.

  • Give and receive constructive feedback with an open mind, and an assumption of positive intent.

  • Socialise, share successes and failures together, and constantly seek ways to be inclusive.

Agile Innovators

The path to excellence is never a straight one. The important thing is that you continue to travel along it, seeing its twists and turns as what they truly are – an opportunity. Because we’re experts in our field, we’re well-equipped to deal with any opportunities we find. To innovate is to change things in new and exciting ways, and you can’t do that standing still.

How do we embody this?

  • Ask “how can we make things even better?”

  • Apply flexibility, fluidity, and creativity in our thinking and processes.

  • Proactively seek opportunities in addressing problems.

  • Stay ahead of the curve, on any potential legislative, technological, environmental, economic, political, and social risks and opportunities.

  • Value attention to detail and making small improvements that affect the whole.

  • See feedback as a chance to reflect, learn, and continually make improvements.

  • Break new ground whilst remaining diligent and maintaining our integrity.

 Success Drivers

Success is a driver in itself, but don’t just assume what works for one business will work for another. Our clients’ goals, ideas, and definition of success will be unique to them – that’s why we’re great at what we do. We listen. We interrogate. We go above and beyond. The result? Successful businesses and happy clients keen to continue working with us.

How do we embody this?

  • Ask “what do you think you need?”

  • Seek to challenge and understand everyone’s measurements for success.

  • Take ownership. We are self-motivated, driven to achieve our targets and the specified desired outcomes.

  • Collaborate, think ‘we’ instead of ‘I’, and consider how all of our actions impact others.

  • Ask for, and offer, help when needed.

  • Go the extra mile, doing things outside our remit when we see the need.

  • Prioritise consistency to build stronger relationships and trust.

If you’re looking to partner with an Umbrella company that places integrity, longevity and relationships at it’s core, look no further. We’d be delighted to speak to you.
